Sydney Parkour's favourite son Wiseno departs on a 5-week trip to Indonesia today. Wiseno will be visiting Jakarta, Solo and Semerang, hoping to meet and train with some of Indonesia's local traceurs. We wish him a safe and fun journey and hope to see some good footage on his return.

Basics Classes
May 02, 2008, 06:39:31 PM by BoD
Basics classes are run every Sunday at 2pm - Check www.sydneyparkour.com for updates and details.
TIME: 2 p.m. (14:00 hrs please arrive before)
COST: The cost is $5 for APA members, $10 non-members. We will have membership forms for anyone wanting to join the APA. Please note, the instructors DO NOT GET PAID, all of the money made from classes goes back to the association in order to provide better facilities for YOU. Donations are always welcome.
Classes are off in the event of rain, but if it is not too wet it is likely that some informal training will be done and you will not have to pay.
No prior training is required, you do not need any form of physical training to come to these classes. Although some experience helps, it is not necessary.
This class is designed to benefit absolute beginners by teaching the fundamentals as well as building on strength and conditioning. For the more seasoned Traceur, it is designed to build on strength and conditioning, improve techniques and teach some of the philosophies of Parkour. We recommend that you bring unrestrictive clothing, comfortable footwear (sneakers) and a bottle of water. The class will run for approximately 3 hours.
LOCATION: We will be meeting at Pyrmont Point Park at 2pm
A map from Town Hall to Pyrmont Point Park is provided with a recommended route indicated.

This class is organised by the Australian Parkour Association.

Escape goes Global.
May 02, 2008, 02:12:31 AM by ShaunWood

On the 2nd of May the global YouTube homepage and many of the local YouTube homepages from various countries will be featuring nothing but parkour videos for a 24 hour takeover. Working along side Parkour Generations, Escape has been chosen as one of the videos to be featured in this worldwide takeover. The day long takeover will offer the type of exposure that has not yet been seen in Australia and will bring our video to a whole new audience. So be sure to keep an eye out. I would also like to take this time to thank Julie Angel who helped out with the re-edit, unfortuently due to copyright laws, we were unable to keep the original track from the original edit. However if you look closely the original edit is the first clip on the related clips, so not all is lost.

Apologies for the late notice, but today's Sydney APA Parkour Basics Class (20th April) has been canceled due to wet weather. As the area is unsuitable for wet weather training, the instructors have decided that it is safer to cancel the class today.
Class will resume as normal next week.
