I would like to echo the sentiments of previous posts. It is fully expected that you give everything. Probably not a great class if you're a complete beginner unless you love pain.

Speaking of which, I won't be able to make the March 7 beginners class because I'll be at the Sydney Tattoo Expo.

How much experience would I need to participate in these? It doesn't exactly seem clear through all the previous posts.
I'm completely for the idea of it, pure training and no-nonesense, but the only Parkour experience I've had (besides fooling around and trying amateurishly at it with a friend) was the First Timer's class.

you must have a strong understanding of the basic techniques of parkour in order to attend. as these conditioning nights might require you to use any skill that a tracuer would need. That said i would recommend that people who have only attended first timers would not have the necessary skill set to take part.

if you feel as though you will be at a sufficient level then i say go for it..
Also i am pretty much out untill the off occasion..
but tbh i find these very fun but not so challenging maybe we could do more challenging stuff at a diff time of the week??

Avarice, you are probably better off going than not going. Considering you have only participated
in one class only:

1. Your participation in the strength and conditioning side of the session will be super beneficial to you,
giving you ideas as to what training you might try in your own time between classes, and also having
people there to encourage you to push yourself when you feel you can't go any further.

2. When the group is doing parkour movement you aren't confident with, just pull yourself aside, and
simply watch and learn. Or even better, practice the movement (hopefully you would have been
shown the technique during 1st timers) slowly. This will at least expose you to parkour movements in
front of your face rather than on a video, so you can see what it is actually like.

Regardless of whether you will be training between classes in your own time or not, this will be +1 to
your training session tally and will have you more prepared for your next class than if you don't go.

Just relax, do your best, and you should be sweet.

ps. the only actual parkour movements i recall doing when i went to this thing was a vault circuit
and a precision jump. Both of which you can easily practice to the side, without being in the way
of the main group. Not sure if they have decided to add more advanced moves into the session though.

Again, I concur.

I went to this session as my first ever parkour experience. I had an abysmal lack of fitness, no parkour skills and I'm old and fat.

The session was good and I attempted all the exercises (with the exception of the last two). Anything I couldn't do I tried something a little easier or took it slower.

I couldn't walk for a week, but not due to injury. I would recommend trying it, but as said elsewhere, don't get in the way of others who are at that level.

Also try to switch off if people start talking about movies they've seen.... there's some sick people out there.
